The Las Vegas Raiders parted ways with one of their best players ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline. Star wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is on his way to Jacksonville after the Jaguars agreed to send a fourth- and sixth-round pick to the “Silver and Black.”
Meyers requested a trade in August after not reaching a new contract with the Raiders. The team denied his request, but that didn’t change the wideout’s mind.

He insisted that he wanted to be traded in October, saying that he wanted to “be in a good spot.” While he waited for the move, Meyers made it clear he would give his all for his team.
“If you move me, you move me. But in the meantime, I got some [teammates] that I care about next to me, so I’m trying to make sure I’m being my best self for them.”

On Tuesday, insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported that Meyers is headed to Jacksonville to join quarterback Trevor Lawrence, running back Travis Etienne and fellow wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.
Prior to the move, the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers were named as the strongest candidates to land Meyers. Coincidentally, he faced off his new team on Sunday, catching four passes for 23 yards in the Raiders’ 30-29 loss to the Jaguars.

This season, Meyers recorded 33 catches for 352 yards in seven games. The Raiders (2-6) are one of the worst teams in the league again. The Jaguars (5-3) are on a positive trajectory, as they chase the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South standings.
With Travis Hunter out, Meyers should elevate their game and help Lawrence secure more wins for the entertaining Jaguars.
