There was much to be concerned about by Daniel Farke’s Leeds United on Saturday as Brighton strolled to a 3-0 win at The Amex – and Lucas Perri is right at the top of that list.
A brace from Diego Gomez after Danny Welbeck’s opener saw The Seagulls cruise to an easy win over Farke’s men. The 3-0 defeat was a third loss in four games, and a fourth loss in five away matches.
Despite coming into the game after beating West Ham and boss Farke confirming a clean bill of health, Leeds were easily beaten. Mistakes were made regularly as Fabian Hurzeler’s side ran out easy winners.
It was Lucas Perri’s fifth outing for Leeds, having missed five games after playing the first three matches against Everton, Arsenal and Newcastle. Perri has failed to keep a clean sheet since the Newcastle draw.

Worrying Lucas Perri stat emerges after Brighton defeat
After the Brighton defeat, that is now nine goals conceded by Perri in five games, having kept two clean sheets earlier in the season. But there is a more alarming stat regarding Perri beginning to surface.
The uncapped Brazilian has only faced 18 shots this season, but has still managed to concede nine goals. He may have made a couple of decent saves against Brighton, but he’s only saved half of the shots faced.
Indeed, of the goalkeepers who have played five games or more this season, that is the worst percentage in the Premier League. A total of 21 have played five or more, with the next-best being Altay Bayindir.

Who should start against Nottingham Forest – Darlow or Perri?
Perri might not have been directly to blame on Saturday and had it not been for the Brazilian, it could easily have been four or five. But, Perri was also guilty of a few mistakes with the ball and in possession.

The alternative is Darlow, who sits higher in terms of save percentage this season, stopping 61% of shots faced. But Darlow has failed to keep a clean sheet so far, conceding eight goals in his five appearances.
Perri might just need a bit more time in English football to get used to things. But, the pressure is growing on Perri and with Farke also facing critics, there is every chance that the German could make a change.
