Man City star attracting interest from several clubs

Manchester City welcome German side Borussia Dortmund to The Etihad in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Citizens have so far endured a mixed season, but now sit second in the Premier League table after a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth last time out.

In the Champions League group phase table, Pep Guardiola’s side occupy seventh place having picked up two wins and a draw from their first three games in the competition.

In the build up to Wednesday’s match, it has emerged that one member of City’s squad is attracting significant interest from other clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

As per CaughtOffside, Man City defender Nathan Ake could be put up for sale when the transfer window reopens in January.

The report claims that the Citizens could be willing to sell the Dutchman for a fee in the region of £25-30 million in the new year, with several clubs showing interest in the player.

Italian sides Inter Milan and Juventus are said to be keeping tabs on the Netherlands international, while Premier League side Crystal Palace are also created with an interest.

According to the report, Ake could leave The Etihad in the coming months having featured in just five of City’s Premier League matches so far this term.

The centre-back, who can also play at full-back, joined City from Bournemouth in 2020 and has since enjoyed a hugely successful spell in Manchester, making more than 150 appearances for the club and winning no fewer than ten trophies.

Ake, 30, has fallen somewhat down the pecking order in Guardiola’s squad of late, though, and has started just one Premier League game so far this term.

The Dutchman is under contract at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season, but the report suggests that several clubs are showing interest in the player and City are willing to let him leave for the right price.
