Indianapolis Colts acquiring Sauce Gardner in blockbuster trade with New York Jets

The Indianapolis Colts and New York Jets have reportedly pulled off a blockbuster trade.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Colts are acquiring cornerback Sauce Gardner from the Jets. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Indy is giving up two first-round picks in the trade.

"Sources: The Jets are trading Sauce Gardner to the Colts. Blockbuster," Rapoport reported.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

There is not a sufficient amount of wows to fully encapsulate how shocking this is.

For starters, the Colts general manager Chris Ballard isn't known for making blockbuster trades like this.

Furthermore, there has been zero indication the Jets were ever considering trading Gardner, who is one of their best defenders.

Nevertheless, clearly the Colts are going all in on this season, which is understandable after Indy has looked like one of the best teams in the NFL.

Indy had a massive need at cornerback after the retirement of Xavien Howard and the injury to Charvarius Ward that landed him on injured reserve.

Safe to say, the Colts filled that need in a massive way by acquiring one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
