CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns are so deep on their defensive line this season that they were able to part with an edge-rusher.

About 2 1/2 hours before the trade deadline, the Browns traded Joe Tryon-Shoyinka to the Bears along with a seventh-round pick in exchange for a sixth-round.

A former first-round pick of the Bucs, Tryon-Shoyinka signed a one-year free agent deal with the Browns in the offseason, but didn’t make much of an impact.

He notched nine tackles and no sacks in his eight games with the Browns.

He was expendable because Alex Wright and Isaiah McGuire have played well this season, and because the Browns have gotten excellent production out of their defensive tackles.
