Liverpool finally halted their dismal run of domestic losses with a much-needed win over Aston Villa at the weekend.
However, any sense of relief will be short-lived as they now gear up to face European powerhouse Real Madrid. The match promises to be a cracker, not only because it features two of football's most illustrious clubs.
But also because it marks Trent Alexander-Arnold's first return to Merseyside since his controversial summer move to the Spanish capital.
Both teams have hit the ground running in their Champions League campaigns. Real Madrid boasts a perfect record so far, while Liverpool has bagged victories in two of its first three matches.
A victory here would nudge either side closer to early qualification for the knockout stages, whilst a defeat could cast doubts on their chances of automatic progression.

Los Blancos enter the tie in formidable form. Xabi Alonso's squad have racked up six consecutive wins in all competitions, including emphatic victories over Barcelona and Juventus, reports Liverpool.com.
They also command a five-point lead at the top of La Liga, having secured 10 victories from 11 matches so far.
In contrast, Arne Slot's Reds have endured six defeats in their last eight outings across all competitions and will need to pull something special out of the bag to turn their fortunes around. Yet, under the Anfield floodlights, anything seems possible.
