The Indianapolis Colts’ Super Bowl odds jumped from +1300 to +1000 after trading for New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

Gardner, a two-time All Pro and the 2022 Defensive Rookie of the Year, was sent to Indianapolis on Tuesday afternoon in exchange for two first-round draft picks and Colts wide receiver Adonai Mitchell.

The trade signifies the Colts, who are tied for the best record in the NFL at 7-2, are committed to competing for a Super Bowl this season. Gardner signed a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension this offseason that made him the league’s highest-paid cornerback.

Gardner will help solidify an Indianapolis pass defense that ranks 26th in the NFL in pass yards allowed per game (244.8). The Colts suffered their second defeat of the season in Week 9 with a 27-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Indianapolis still ranks seventh in the Super Bowl betting market, trailing the Bills (+600), Chiefs (+650), Rams (+800), Lions (+900), Eagles (+950), and Packers (+950).
