We have a trade! The Jacksonville Jaguars have acquired wide receiver Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft, per Adam Schefter.
This was a move that needed to be done after the Jaguars placed first-round pick Travis Hunter on IR before Week 9. It was clear that the Jags didn't have the necessary depth at wide receiver to go on a hopeful playoff run and Meyers gives Trevor Lawrence another option to throw to on offense.

Without Hunter, the Jaguars were looking at a core wide receiver group of Dyami Brown, Brian Thomas Jr., and Parker Washington with Tim Patrick and Austin Trammel as the depth pieces. Considering that Thomas has had a down year, Brown has been dealing with a concussion, and Patrick has been nursing a groin injury, the need for more help at the position was there and Meyers gives the Jags exactly what they coveted at this trade deadline.
Oh, the even better news is that this trade reunites Meyers with Edgar Bennett, who had connections with Meyers from their Raiders days together. That makes this an absolute home run trade for Jacksonville. Yes, they had to give up two Day 3 draft picks but this should keep the Jaguars contending until Hunter can return, which he reportedly should be able to at some point this year.
Jaguars quietly fixed their Travis Hunter problem with Jakobi Meyers trade
Meyers wanted out of Las Vegas and now he gets to go to a playoff contending team and be reunited with Bennett. He'll give the Jags wide receiver group a big boost as well, as the now former Raiders wideout had over 1,000 yards receiver last year in Sin City. The year before, he scored eight touchdowns. So yeah, he's going to be a massive weapon for Lawrence.
Just imagine how much cooking this group can do when Hunter returns and Lawrence then has the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, Meyers, Thomas, and Washington at his disposal. Jags fans have to be thrilled about this acquisition and it definitely puts winning the AFC South back on the table.
