**Athletic Bilbao come to St James' Park to take on Newcastle United under the lights in the Champions League on Wednesday, live on TNT Sports, kick off at 8 pm.**
After the travesty that was Sunday's 3-1 defeat to West Ham, Eddie Howe could easily change his entire starting XI and nobody would bat an eye.
However, we don't think he'll go too wild with the changes, instead bringing Kieran Trippier back into the fold as he recovers from illness.
The big changes will be in midfield, where we expect Joelinton to make way for Jacob Ramsey, and if Howe has the stones, he should drop Bruno Guimaraes, [who is a doubt anyway](https://nufcfeed.com/bruno-guimaraes-big-doubt-to-face-athletic-bilbao-as-illness-sweeps-through-newcastle-united-squad-1667985), and play Lewis Miley instead.

How we expect to line up on Wednesday night
### Goalkeeper
**Nick Pope** - Eddie Howe pretty much confirmed that Pope will retain his place for this game.
### Defenders
**Kieran Trippier (c)** \- Missed West Ham through illness. Hopefully, he's well enough to feature tomorrow; he was a huge miss.
**Malick Thiaw** - We thought the German did well on Sunday, all things considered. No reason to drop him.
**Sven Botman** - His partnership with Thiaw is key.
**Dan Burn** - It's probably too soon for Lewis Hall to knock Burn off his perch, but it's coming.
### Midfielders
**Lewis Miley** - If Bruno Guimaraes isn't 100% then we don't play him. He's no use to us half-arsing it. Give Miley the responsibility.
**Sandro Tonali** - A rare stinker of a game on Sunday, but if anyone has the class to bounce back, it's Sandro.
**Jacob Ramsey** - Joelinton just hasn't been at it this season. This is why we brought in Ramsey to cover the Brazilian.
### Forwards
**Jacob Murphy** - He put in the effort that others were lacking on Sunday and continues to earn his place ahead of misfiring Anthony Elanga.
**Nick Woltemade** - Hooked at half time on Sunday, but he's a good character and he can bounce back.
**Anthony Gordon** - Doesn't deserve to be picked on recent form, but Gordon does turn up for Champions League games, so he'll get the nod.
Even Eddie Howe spoke about not being sure whether to give his flops another try or rip up the playbook for this one, so really, it's anyone's guess what he's going to do.
