Jets make another blockbuster move, this this time trading All-Pro defensive tackle (report)

The New York Jets are selling at the deadline and appear to be in full rebuild mode.

Shortly after they traded star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts, the Jets completed another blockbuster, this time with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys acquired All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick, 2027 first-round pick and defensive tackle Mazi Smith, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Williams quickly solidified his role on the Jets defense since being selected by the organization third-overall in 2019 NFL Draft. He was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2022 and is a three-time Pro Bowler.

The Jets are now wealthy in picks with two first-rounders in 2026 and three in 2027, as well as two second-round picks in 2026.

Williams signed a four-year, $96 million extension — including $66 million guaranteed — with the Jets in 2023.

After trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys needed help on their defensive line.

Williams has one sack, three quarterback hits and three forced fumbles this season.

Williams saw his best season in 2022 with 12.0 sacks. And while his production has slipped since then, he still provides a boost to Dallas’ defensive line and could be an immediate difference-maker.
