Liverpool fans showed their true colours on Tuesday night during their clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League.
The Reds hosted the Spanish giants for the first time since academy star Trent Alexander-Arnold left Anfield for Madrid in the summer, in a hotly anticipated clash in Europe's most elite competition.
A fiery affair was anticipated by many, with Alexander-Arnold expected to start the game amid injury to club captain Dani Carvajal, but after being named on the bench, it became clear that Xabi Alonso may have made the decision with the atmosphere in the stadium in his mind.

Alexander-Arnold signed for Real Madrid after agreeing to make the move to La Liga instead of renewing his contract, with a free transfer on the cards.
However, Real Madrid agreed to pay Liverpool a £10m fee for the England international to play in the Club World Cup during the summer. Despite that, Liverpool fans were furious during the summer that their academy star had opted to leave the reigning Premier League champions.
Now upon Alexander-Arnold's return to the club as an opposition player, the fans made their feelings abundantly clear as they booed loudly when he ran onto the pitch to warm up before the game as a substitute.
The 27-year-old could be seen trying to shrug the situation off while laughing and joking with his teammates, including Brazil forward Rodrygo, but it would surely be affecting him inside as a lifelong Liverpool fan.
The right-back remained on the bench throughout the first-half as Liverpool dominated and created the clearest opportunities but failed to take them, with the sides unable to be separated for much of the game.
