Tom Brady reveals his dog is actually a clone

Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady revealed some shocking news about his dog Junie. She’s a clone.

The Fox Sports commentator announced the news on Tuesday, Nov. 4, in a press release obtained by People. In the announcement, it is revealed that Junie, a pit bull mix, is actually a clone of his late dog, Lua, who passed away in December 2023.

The biotech firm, Colossal Biosciences, performed the procedure.

“I love my animals. They mean the world to me and my family,” Brady said in the release. “A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s elderly dog before she passed.”

The seven-time Super Bowl champion added that Colossal “gave my family a second chance with a clone of our beloved dog.”

According to the announcement, the cloning process began with a blood sample collected from Lua before her death. Brady and his ex-wife, Gisele Bündchen, had adopted Lua during their marriage, and she frequently appeared on their social media accounts.

Brady has since become an investor in Colossal Biosciences. The company also announced its acquisition of Viagen Pets & Equine, another biotech firm, on Nov. 4.

Viagen is also in the pet cloning business. The company previously cloned Barbra Streisand’s dog after it passed away in 2017. It also cloned Paris Hilton’s dog after it went missing in 2022.
