Rob Edwards addresses Wolves speculation and Middlesbrough bravery after Leicester City draw

Rob Edwards has once again played down links with the vacancy at former club Wolves and restated his attention to his work at Middlesbrough.

The Boro head coach was delighted as a Luke Ayling equaliser six minutes into injury time gave Boro the 1-1 draw he felt they deserved.

The match was played out against a backdrop of speculation about his position from the outside and a determination to keep that narrative quiet on the inside.

Asked about the speculation, in the light of Gary O'Neil pulling out of the running, Edwards said.

"It's the same as, I'd said yesterday and I've just said out there as well, it's my wife and my daugh\ter that keeping me abreast of the situation and I'm just concentrating on this.

"I'm really pleased with what we delivered over the last couple of days because the turnaround.

"I kind of want to speak about the lads a little bit as well because the turnaround, we worked on the bus on the way back.

"Long journey back, got back late, we were in again on Sunday, and the staff worked really hard to make sure that we reviewed Saturday, got a really good plan together for Leicester tonight. So I'm really pleased with the focus.

"Character and spirit, belief, which you need in football - and quality.

"But we'd all agree, I don't think it's anything less than what we deserved from the game.

"But then the circumstances at the end, when it looked doubtful, made it feel almost like a a win, even though it wasn't. But I feel it should have been.

"We know they're in a slightly difficult moment and coming here you want to be able to try and quieten the crowd and take some control and I thought we did that really well.

"The crowd got the lift from the questionable penalty decision just before halftime.

"I haven't seen the other angle, so if I'm moaning and I'm wrong, I apologise, but it looks like H's foot's on the line and his arm's outside the box, so it's another big one that's gone against us potentially, before I've seen the other side.

"That obviously then gets everyone going and it gives them something to hang on to as well, but we completely dominated the game we've had almost three times the shots they have, we created some big chances with a couple of big ones with David in the first half, TC in the second half.

"But we kept going and found a way to get something from it and you don't really want to lose two games in a row in this league so it was good.

"We always say respect the point, especially away from home respecting this football club as well, a big football club with a lot of good players so it's a really big point buy I'm slightly tinged with a bit of disappointment because of the performance.

"I feel like we should have got more from it, but, but the, the reality is, we take a point."
