Kevon Looney was one of the many UCLA players that were one and done over the years. Spending one season with the UCLA Bruins as a forward in 2014. He turned in a very good freshman year averaging 11.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. Helping the Bruins to a Sweet 16 appearance where they ultimately lost to Gonzaga.
Looney is a sneaky shooter! He was a problem at UCLA 💛💙

Looney shortly after that game would put his name into the 2015 NBA Draft. Where he would slide into the first round drafted by the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. Little did anyone know this would be the start of a run for Looney with the team. He would spend 10 years in Golden State and win three championships.

Looney has never done anything that is going to jump off the stat sheets. He has career averages of 5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. But he fit exactly what the Warriors wanted to do. Play small ball with a forward at center. Looney did it perfectly and provided good rebounding and good defense for the team.
This past off-season Looney made the jump to New Orleans. He has never played a game outside of a Golden State uniform until recently. His season debut versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Seemed very weird to see him in another uniform. After everything that was accomplished with the Warriors.

Overall, Looney has created a good career for himself. It wasn’t an orthodox career and not one that he expected. But he played a big role on three championship teams, changing his game and the overall trajectory for his career in a positive way.
