Tuesday was a monumental day for the Jets, as they traded two of their defensive pillars in blockbuster moves, sending Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.
And while other notable names like Breece Hall and Jermaine Johnson stayed put, the Jets did make one other trade just ahead of the 4:00PM deadline, acquiring cornerback Ja'Sir Taylor from the Los Angeles Chargers in exchange for a conditional 2028 seventh-round pick.
Taylor, an Asbury Park, N.J. native, was originally drafted by the Chargers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft after playing his college ball at Wake Forrest.
The 26-year-old has primarily been a depth piece for the Chargers, appearing in 57 games but making just 11 starts over his three-and-a-half years with the team. His lone career interception came back in 2023.
Adding Taylor gives the Jets needed cornerback depth after the team traded Gardner on Tuesday and slot corner Michael Carter II to the Eagles last week.
