The Dallas Cowboys finally got the sort of player fans had been crying out for once Micah Parsons was traded, and that player is defensive tackle Quinnen Williams.
The All-Pro now comes to The Star as part of a trade that sends Mazi Smith, along with a 2026 second-round pick and a 2027 first-round pick, to the New York Jets.
Seen as a brute of a player with power and the ability to destroy the line of scrimmage and live in the backfield, the Cowboys' interior defensive line now gets a serious upgrade, and we imagine Matt Eberflus is one happy man right now.
Oh, and head coach Brian Schottenheimer is too.
"He's just a difference maker," Schottenheimer said. "The ability to impact the interior part of the pocket from a pass rush standpoint, very disruptive. You see the talent, but I love the play style."

Cowboys finally get the run-stopper they've craved
Having had their eye on Williams for a while now and even tried to include him in a trade with the Jets for Micah Parsons in the offseason, the Cowboys finally have that monster on the inside that can take on double teams, but also shed them and make a beeline to the quarterback.
With Williams, Osa Odighizuwa, and Kenny Clark, that is a serious trio of interior defensive linemen that Eberflus will now have to work with, and no, this move won't suddenly change the fortunes of the 2025 Cowboys, but it does make them better.
How much better? That is unknown, but with Williams doing his thing, the Cowboys on defense might be able to resemble a proper NFL defense for the first time this season.
