The Confident Bucs Front Office
November 4th, 2025
No trades for the Bucs today as the annual 2025 NFL trade deadline slammed its door shut at 4 p.m.
Joe needed to take a moment to lament the Bucs giving a high-five to the status quo.
The Bucs are 6-2 with several key injuries, an emerging defense and an MVP-caliber quarterback. They have a shot to reach the Super Bowl but will have to do it with their own players, barring a unique situation. The trade option is now off the table.
Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht either was outbid for a player he wanted, didn’t like the ransom or refused to part with a draft pick because he’s proven his draft picks are so damn valuable. Or, and Joe hopes this is the reason no trade was made, Licht and the Bucs’ power brokers believe their injured stars will not only return to the field, they’ll come back at or close to their peak performance.
The injured list includes starting receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, beastly right tackle Luke Goedeke and running back Bucky Irving, among others.
Before the Bucs-Saints game two Sunday’s ago, Licht said key injured players will begin to trickle back to the playing field after the bye week. He gave no details, and Joe thinks that last could include right guard Luke Haggard and, eventually, defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.
Joe polled fans today to see how they are feeling about the Bucs passing on a trade. Most are not pleased, but the fan base is divided.
It’s fair to say a win Sunday at home against the red hot Patriots will have a lot of fans forgetting about what didn’t happen today.
