While the current LSU Tigers did not have the opportunity to break our hearts, the NFL sure did! Let’s break down a bunch of other games before we get to yet more sadness brought on by an LSU quarterback getting killed. Stick through it for one final baseball update.

Still no active Emery Jones for some reason!

Kayshon Boutte was held without a catch as he deals with a hamstring strain. K’Lavon Chaisson had two tackles and a sack.
PFF had Will Campbell as the top graded run blocker and pass blocker for the Patriots. He also made an incredible effort play with this touchdown-saving tackle.
Pats continue to be the runaway NFLSU Team of the Year.

WE HAVE AN ACTIVE CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE! I REPEAT: WE HAVE AN ACTIVE CLYDE EDWARDS-HELAIRE. I don’t care if he only got five yards on two carries. I’m always happy to see that dude out there. Tre’Davious White had one tackle and Reid Ferguson long snapped.

Seahawks 38 at Commanders 14
Look, I knew the Commanders would regress this year, but this is brutal. Jayden Daniels’ 2025 is what we were worried his 2024 would be. It somehow feels even crueler to see it all go right last year only for it to all go wrong this year when we hoped for bigger things.
Jayden was 16/22 for 153 yars and an INT with 51 rushing yards and a TD on 10 attempts. He was sacked four times. Seattle had the entire team in a chokehold. I think an Etsy Witch cured the Commanders. An unbelievable number of things has gone wrong. I hope Jayden Daniels can replenish himself in a Bacta tank until next August. I miss watching him play football, but it can’t be like this.
Anthony Bradford blocked. Not enough to overcome this wretched result.
NFLSU Score: -5/10

Damone Clark played but did not have a tackle.

2025 World Series: Dodgers 4 at Blue Jays 3
The 2025 World Series was guaranteed to include an LSU pitcher winning a ring, and while we’re happy for the guy who won, I think we are all a little disappointed for the guy who didn’t.
Kevin Gausman started Games 2 and 6 of the Series, and while he was credited with the loss in both, neither were bad outings. He pitched 6.2 and 6 innings respectively, surrendering only three runs each time. Not bad performances, but brutal when his offense only gave him one run of support both nights. He helped keep the bullpen intact for Games 3 and 7, which the remaining Blue Jays had an infinite number of opportunities to win.
But enough about the losing team. The Los Angeles Dodgers scraped out four wins one of the most thrilling and entertaining World Series ever. We all know the guy they couldn’t have done it without… pitcher Paul Gervase.
On a serious note, Paul just barely missed being part of the incredible 2023 team, so this is a nice consolation. This makes four straight years the World Series winner has featured an LSU Tiger.
