Jets Rejected Chiefs' Breece Hall Offer Before NFL Trade Deadline: Report

The New York Jets were very active on Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline, sending away two franchise stars in exchange for future draft capital as the struggling organization looks toward a rebuild.

Two-time All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner was shipped to the Indianapolis Colts, and three-time Pro-Bowl defensive lineman Quinnen Williams was sent to Dallas in a blockbuster trade with the Cowboys.

The Jets featured several more popular trade targets leading up to this year’s Nov. 4 deadline, including fourth-year running back Breece Hall.

The Kansas City Chiefs were consistently identified as one of the top landing spots for Hall in trade discussions around the league. And while the reigning AFC champions failed to add a running back before the deadline, it wasn’t for a lack of trying.

The Chiefs offered the Jets a fourth-round pick in exchange for Hall, according to New York insider Connor Hughes of SNY.

“With Breece Hall, there was an offer on the table for a fourth-round pick for Breece Hall. I was told it was from the Kansas City Chiefs that were willing to trade for Breece Hall. The Jets were steadfast in wanting a third,” Hughes reported after the deadline.

The Jets also reportedly turned down a second-round pick offer for defensive end Jermaine Johnson.

The Chiefs have yet to have a running back rush for more than 60 yards in a single game so far this season. Isiah Pacheco, who missed Kansas City’s Week 9 loss to the Buffalo Bills with an MCL sprain, leads the team with just 329 rushing yards. Veteran RB Kareem Hunt has 294 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns through his nine games of action in 2025.

With this lack of running back production, a heavy load has fallen on the shoulders of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who ranks third on the Chiefs with 285 rushing yards.

Rookie RB Brashard Smith has yet to get things going on the ground, recording just 82 yards on 28 carries.

Hall has 581 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns and 178 receiving yards through eight games with the struggling New York offense.

He put forth his best effort of the year in a Week 8 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
