Breece Hall Reacts To Jets Deadline Deals In Since-Deleted Post

The NFL trade deadline has come and passed, with the New York Jets making the two most significant trades of the day.

New York completed two blockbuster trades before the deadline, sending star cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys. Despite the fire sale, the Jets surprisingly held onto running back Breece Hall, even though the 24-year-old actively wanted to be traded.

Hall is in the last season of his rookie contract, and ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported in August that Hall would be seeking a contract similar to James Cook and Kyren Williams if he played well during the 2025 campaign. Since then, Hall’s future with the team was in doubt as rumors swirled that the Jets would have the young running back on the trade block, though head coach Aaron Glenn repeatedly expressed his desire to retain Hall.

With New York waving the white flag and selling off its top assets before the trade deadline, it was surprising to see the team not deal Hall. The versatile playmaker took to X following the Jets’ blockbuster trades today, expressing he was “sick,” in a post that has since been deleted but not before Underdog grabbed a screen shot and reposted.

Hall has been one of the Jets’ best offensive weapons the past few seasons and is in the midst of potentially his best season since entering the league. The 24-year-old back has 581 rushing yards on 117 carries with two touchdowns this season in eight games, plus another 178 yards in the air. Hall found the end zone for the first time this season in New York’s 39-38 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, where he scored two rushing touchdowns and threw the game-winning touchdown.

Hall wanted to leave New York, as the team is entering a rebuild after trading away some of its best players. The Jets clearly view the young back as an integral part of their offense, and will likely lean on him the rest of the season before having to make a contract decision. It will be interesting to see if Hall considers staying with New York after making his desire to be traded public.
