Knicks’ Jordan Clarkson praises Madison Square Garden atmosphere for his recent performance

New York Knicks guard Jordan Clarkson has seemingly found his footing over the course of the team’s last two games, feeding off of the Madison Square Garden crowd in the process.

Through the team’s first five games, Clarkson was averaging just 6.8 points per game, and had reached double-digit scoring just once. That has changed for the better so far this week.

After that sluggish start to the season for Clarkson, the former Sixth Man of the Year winner has scored 15 points in each of the Knicks last two games — wins over the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards. After signing a one-year deal with the Knicks this offseason, he is looking more like the player they signed to improve their second unit recently.

After the Knicks’ 119-102 win over the Wizards on Monday, Clarkson talked about the impact of playing at Madison Square Garden in front of the home crowd.

“It feels great. The fans, the atmosphere, just playing here and feeling that love here, it's been amazing,” Clarkson said.

Clarkson’s groove comes at a good time for the Knicks, who have now won back-to-back games after a three-game losing skid. Clarkson will have a chance to continue his home cooking over the next two weeks, as the Knicks still have five more games in a row before departing for a road trip to Miami later this month.
