Erik ten Hag 'is interested' in talking to Wolves about their vacant manager role following the sacking of Vitor Pereira, according to reports from ESPN.
Wolves sacked Pereira on Sunday in the wake of their 3-0 defeat to Fulham, which saw them remain the only Premier League side yet to register a league win so far this season.
Former Wolves boss Gary O'Neill was touted for a return to Molineux, but has since withdrawn from contention, with former Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick and current Boro boss Rob Edwards also linked with succeeding Pereira.
Ex-Manchester United manager Ten Hag surprisingly parted company with Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen earlier this season after just two games in charge, and now the Dutchman is eyeing a return to the Premier League, despite reservations from both himself and the Wolves hierarchy.
Ten Hag Wants To Discuss Wolves Job

After leading Man Utd to an EFL Cup win against Newcastle United in 2023 and an FA Cup win over arch-rivals Manchester City the following summer, Ten Hag was dismissed by the Red Devils in October 2024 with the club 14th in the Premier League.
In the summer, Bayer Leverkusen appointed Ten Hag to replace Xabi Alonso after the Spaniard's move to Real Madrid, describing him as "exceptional".
The Dutchman's tenure would last just three competitive games in charge though after reported clashes with the German outfit's hierarchy.
As a result, Ten Hag is searching for his next opportunity in football and is aware that roles in the top flight rarely become available.
Therefore, Premier League strugglers Wolves are of interest to him, although ESPN add that the former Ajax boss has "reservations about taking a job mid-season" and regarding their reluctance to spend substantially in the upcoming winter transfer window.
On Wolves' part, ESPN add that the Old Gold are said to 'favour appointing a younger coach' akin to Carrick or Edwards, and that it is unclear whether 55-year-old Ten Hag would be deemed a suitable successor to Pereira on that basis.
Although Ten Hag's recent short spell with Leverkusen and the conclusion to his Red Devils tenure may have affected his reputation in the game, the manner in which key members of his Man Utd squad reacted to his departure was telling to his abilities.
Man Utd Stars Had Praise For Ten Hag After Sacking

Just five months after hoisting the FA Cup trophy under the Wembley arch, Man Utd sacked Ten Hag in October following the club's worst start to the top flight since the 1989-90 campaign.
Although Ten Hag's tenure at Old Trafford ended with a string of poor results, both domestically and in the Europa League, now-Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho's reaction to his exit highlighted his popularity. As quoted by the BBC, Garnacho said:
"Thank you for everything, boss. I will always be grateful to you for giving me the opportunity and the confidence to play for this club. It hasn't gone as well as we wanted, but I will remember the good times we had together and I wish you all the best in the future. Thank you very much Erik."
With Wolves currently rock-bottom of the Premier League table after eight defeats in ten games, it would be a mammoth task for Ten Hag to keep the Wolverhampton outfit in the top flight.
