Why Hurzeler says Tzimas has shown he is ready for the Premier League

Stefanos Tzimas has been told he is getting to grips with the Premier League.

The Greece under-21s striker looked lively coming off the bench as [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/?ref=au) beat Leeds 3-0.

He started the previous game, at Arsenal in the Carabao Cup.

While his performance at the Emirates was largely judged on a good first-half chance he missed, he also put in a good all-round shift.

Albion have been patient with Tzimas since his arrival in the summer from the German second division.

But Fabian Hurzeler has now said he has shown he can play in the Prem.

Asked whether that is down to improved fitness or improving his game, the head coach said: “Both – he physically more ready, he's adapting to the demands from the Premier League.

“He's doing well in training. He's getting better in possession, in understanding our style of play so it's just a mix of everything.”

Tzimas will play for Greece under-21s in the coming international window as they play crucial Euros qualifiers.

His compatriot Charalampos Kostoulas was called into the senior squad for World Cup qualifiers which are of little importance given Greece have already missed out on a qualification or play-off place.
