Leeds United reportedly have no plans to recall Joe Gelhardt from his loan spell at Hull City.
The 23-year-old was one considered Leeds’ most exciting young prospects, but saw his career stall after his initial breakthrough at Elland Road.
Opportunities proved particularly limited under Daniel Farke in the Championship, leading to a loan move being sanctioned in January.
Gelhardt joined Hull on a temporary basis and was given a new lease of life at the MKM Stadium. He returned for a second spell in the summer and has notched six goals in 14 league appearances this term.
Four of his goals have been scored across his last five Championship games, catching the eye of Leeds fans keeping tabs on his progress.

Leeds United’s Joe Gelhardt stance outlined
Leeds Live have claimed there is a recall clause in the versatile attacker’s loan agreement, although the Whites are not thought to be planning on activating it.
It is believed Leeds intend to allow Gelhardt to see out the season at the MKM Stadium, where he is understood to be enjoying his football.
The report has suggested Leeds initially planned to sell the forward-turned-winger in the summer, only to decide sending him back to Hull on loan was the best course of action.
Even if Gelhardt does not prompt a rethink regarding his status in the Leeds squad with his form, a continuation of his exploits will only add to his transfer value.
His Leeds deal is due to expire in 2027, therefore he could potentially land the Whites a fee in the next summer window.

Joe Gelhardt’s summer switch
“I loved my time here last year – everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It’s a great club to be at, and the lads have spoken very highly of the new manager.
“The people here, the city, the fans – everything about last season was just the perfect match. I was probably the happiest I’ve been in my football career during the last few months I spent here last year.
“It’s a season-long loan this time, so being in from the start and having a whole year with the lads is going to be better than three or four months.”
