The young winger has made an impressive start to his loan spell, scoring five goals including dramatic the late winners against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City.
Cozier-Duberry has quickly become an important member of Steven Schumacher’s squad, starting every league game to date, and his consistent performances saw him on the fringes of the England Under-21 squad last month.
“The first day he trained, the players took to him. It’s not just his ability on the ball, he has got this smile that people want to engage with,” Harkin told [The Wanderers Way Podcast](https://youtu.be/pWnJeMuVoVc?ref=ed_direct).
“When he loses the ball, I’ve never seen anyone work harder to get it back. Wingers will lose the ball, but Amario is doing brilliantly for us. Really, really happy with him.
“You talk about him being recalled… in every loan deal the mother club have the option to recall the player a lot of the time. But I speak to Brighton regularly and they are very happy.
“What we said we would deliver for Amario, we are. He is performing for us, they are very happy with him and I don’t see that changing.”
The 20-year-old got a taste of Championship football last season during a loan spell at Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers.

When asked if he can eventually play at the top level, Harkin replied: “I think he has (a chance) because he has got this ability to affect games. He is a winger who can go inside and outside so he is not predictable.
“His work rate off the ball, that is what all the top managers are looking for now. Amario just turned 20 so he is still very young, he hasn’t played much senior football. Coming here this year is the perfect environment for him to play.
“We spent a lot of time showing him and Brighton not just his strengths and weaknesses, but how he fits into how we want to play, and that is exactly what is happening. He has got the chance but we shouldn’t put pressure on him, he is still very young.”
Another youngster who has impressed this season is Max Conway, who has become a regular starter following an impressive loan in League Two last term.
The Academy graduate recently put pen to paper over a new long-term contract at the Toughsheet Stadium.
“For me, it was really important. I was calm on it because we had really good dialogue with Max and we knew it was going to happen. Other people were less patient but we knew we were going to be OK there,” Harkin smiled.
“For how we want to build the squad and the club, it is really important that the young players commit and see that staying here, developing here and playing senior football is important for their development.
“We have got to provide the opportunity – which we said to Max in pre-season we would – but you have got to take it when you get that chance.
“In fairness to Max, he has blown it out of the water. He has been excellent and that is what you need. He trusted us, we trusted him and we have got a long-term partnership now.”
