No one saw this coming.
But a few months after trading away a defensive superstar in Micah Parsons, the Dallas Cowboys got one back.
Quinnen Williams is the newest member of the Cowboys after a shock deadline trade with the New York Jets.
And the trade has been well received by analysts for the Dallas side of it.
The Sporting News' senior NFL writer, Vinnie Iyer, has given it an 'A' grade.
"The Cowboys solved two problems with their defensive line by getting stronger vs. the run and more versatile with their pass rush while giving up on disappointing Mazi Smith," Iyer writes. "The cost in draft picks wasn't bad to lock up a linchpin up front."

It was definitely a weird day for the Jets.
New York not only traded away Williams but also cornerback Sauce Gardner. At the same time, the deadline came and went without Breece Hall being moved despite the RB being on the final year of his contract and not seeming particularly likely to re-sign with the Jets.
The Cowboys, who got Williams, and the Colts, who got Gardner, end up being the beneficiaries of the unforeseen Jets fire sale.
Dallas will pair Williams with Kenny Clark (acquired in the Parsons deal) to form a formidable interior of the defensive line that should impact games in a big way.
The Cowboys weren't necessarily expected to be major buyers, but this was an opportunity too good to pass up.
