Liverpool secured consecutive home victories in the Champions League with a 1-0 triumph over Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Alexis Mac Allister's header in the second half was all that Arne Slot's team needed, having also defeated Atletico Madrid, Real's city rival, at home in September. The victory propelled the Reds to sixth place in the group stage of the tournament, ahead of Wednesday's matches. The Reds will next face Manchester City away in the Premier League on Sunday.
Of course, you're already aware of all this. However, there were several intriguing subplots during the match as Liverpool defeated the 15-time European champion for the second season running in the Champions League. Here are some of the best moments missed from Tuesday's game...
Robertson rages
Referee Istvan Kovacs' decision to consult the pitchside monitor to determine whether Liverpool should be awarded a penalty led to several Madrid players following him to the screen.
As the players queued up to view the replay alongside the Romanian referee, Andy Robertson was seen leading the Liverpool charge, expressing his displeasure at the visiting players' audacity in watching the incident back themselves.

Robertson, accompanied by Ibrahima Konate and Alexis Mac Allister, expressed his annoyance to the linesman while Kovacs reviewed the replays involving Aurelien Tchouameni. The Liverpool left-back was spotted arguing with the fourth official in an attempt to move the Madrid players away from the scene.
This was the kind of fighting spirit that Liverpool has been lacking in recent weeks, even though the Scotland captain and his teammates eventually disagreed with Kovacs's decision of a drop-ball for no handball by Tchouameni.
Konate makes point
Anfield, already buzzing, needed no invitation to raise the noise levels on the night, but it was within the first five minutes when Ibrahima Konate insisted they be turned up to 11.
After carrying the ball out before witnessing a Jude Bellingham tackle earn a Liverpool throw, Konate could be seen rallying the crowd in an effort to maintain the highest possible intensity levels. The gesture worked, with Anfield at its best for quite some time on the night.
Konate clearly understood the significance of a fantastic atmosphere on the night toward achieving a big result, and he was determined to see the fans perform just as well as the players with his early message.
Later in the match, Konate could be seen heading straight for Dominik Szoboszlai to heap praise on him after the midfielder had helped secure a goal kick with the score at 1-0 and Liverpool defending their lead with all their might. In a match where Konate was pitted against the team who are keen to sign him as a free agent next summer, he demonstrated his commitment to Anfield.
Steve Gerrard, Gerrard...
The 83rd minute of the game saw massive chants for the legendary Steven Gerrard, with an obvious reference to Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold. Gerrard, who was present at Anfield for the Aston Villa match on Saturday, received a much warmer reception on Tuesday, even though he wasn't there.
The iconic chant in honor of the 2005 Champions League-winning captain was belted out by the Reds fans. Usually, it would be a tribute to one of the club's greatest players, but this time it seemed more like a jibe at Alexander-Arnold, a local lad who couldn't resist the allure of Madrid, unlike Gerrard.
Can you hear that, Jeremie?
Hugo Ekitike's smile was as broad as the River Mersey when he left the Anfield pitch at the end of the match. As the fans sang his terrace anthem - set to Black Lace's novelty hit Do the Conga - the French striker made sure his teammate Jeremie Frimpong heard what was being sung.
Ekitike and Frimpong shared a hug on the touchline at full-time, after which the forward gestured to the injured Dutch international about the anthem that was reverberating around the stadium. Ex-Eintracht Frankfurt forward Ekitike was evidently thrilled with the acclaim his performance had earned from the supporters, enthusiastically sharing his excitement with Frimpong as they headed towards the tunnel.
