Eintracht Frankfurt are planning a January transfer window bid for Newcastle United striker Willam Osula.
[That’s according to SportBILD](https://sportbild.bild.de/), who say the Newcastle player is ‘set to arrive’ at the German club. They already wanted to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Sporting director Markus Krösche has already reached an agreement with the Newcastle man and his entourage. Everything also appeared to be settled with Newcastle United. A loan deal with an option to buy for €25m was planned.
But, despite contracts being drawn up and medical documents obtained, Newcastle’s Saudi Arabian owners ‘scuttled everything’ with an internal text message. They had decided to block any more exits after the Alexander Isak saga.
That’s proven to be smart as Yoane Wissa was sidelined for two months. Osula has been the back up option to Nick Woltemade in that period.
Newcastle United stance seen as bargaining position

Newcastle United have now made it clear that a deal in January won’t happen, however, this is being viewed as a way to drive up Osula’s price tag.
Frankfurt are still hoping to get a deal done and would be prepared to put together another €25m package to tempt the Magpies. They believe they need a new striker as Elye Wahi is not working out at present.
There’s internal dissatisfaction about the striker, who seems out of place at the club. They’re now prepared to let him go and would like Osula to be his replacement.
