**Liverpool stopped the rot last night, picking up a 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the Champions League while a Newcastle United player watched on from the stands.**
In the summer, Newcastle United confirmed the signing of Georgian wonderkid Vakhtang Salia, who joined the club on his 18th birthday at the end of the transfer window.
It was a deal that was completed months beforehand, so the actual signing went somewhat under the radar, particularly as Newcastle were in the throes of signing Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa at the time.
However, since Salia's 18th birthday came and went, we've been left to wonder if he'd actually even signed at all as the youngster seemingly vanished into thin air.

Vakhtang Salia was pictured at Anfield on Tuesday night

As it turns out, at least according to [The Shields Gazette](https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-liverpool-champions-league-salia-mamardashvili-5389229), Salia has yet to feature for Newcastle at any level as he's been carrying an injury since the summer.
However, he is alive and well, as he was spotted in the stands at Anfield last night and even went behind the scenes at full-time.
Thankfully, this isn't another dodgy power play by Liverpool. Vakhtang Salia and Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili share an agent, and the duo were pictured with their agent on the night.
Vakhtang Salia has been compared to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

We're not even sure what Salia's injury is, or how soon he is to make a comeback, but at least now we have confirmation that he's in the country.
The 18-year-old has been compared to his fellow countryman, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and was highly sought after before Newcastle swooped in to seal the deal.
Hopefully, we'll soon get to see for ourselves what kind of talent we have brought to the club.
