NFL power rankings: NFC North Week 10

Nine games remain in the regular season. The NFC North sees one win differentiating the first-place Green Bay Packers and fourth-place Minnesota Vikings. The NFC North is the tightest division race in the National Football League. The four teams will be in for a fight to see who ends up with the division crown. As the season moves into week ten, here are the 2025 NFC North Divisional Power Rankings.

4. Minnesota Vikings Record: 4-4 (Last Week’s Ranking: 4)

Last week, Minnesota pulled off an upset win against division foes. They handed Detroit its third loss of the season. Week nine also saw the return of quarterback J.J. McCarthy. McCarthy performed well, using his arm and legs to aid in the Vikings’ win. On the season, Minnesota’s defense is ranked 14th in yards allowed per game, 8th in passing yards allowed per game, and 20th in points allowed per game. The defense can be more successful if they create turnovers like last season. The offense has taken a step back from last season’s production, but the return of J.J. McCarthy will help build stability in their weekly game plans.

Chicago is coming off a week nine win after nearly blowing a fourth quarter lead to Cincinnati. The Bears secured their fifth win of the season and continue to be players for the NFC North crown. The story from last week was about the breakout performances by rookies Kyle Monangai and Colston Loveland. Chicago’s defense has deficiencies defending the run, but the unit has been one of the league’s best at creating turnovers. The Bears are ranked 1st in the takeaway/giveaway ratio at +13. Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen deserves credit for the way he’s game planned each week, especially while missing the team’s top cornerback in Jaylon Johnson. Chicago’s offense is a work in progress, but after last week’s ground game explosion, the Bears rank 4th in yards per game and 2nd in rushing yards per game.

2. Detroit Lions Record: 5-3 (Last Week’s Ranking: 1)

Detroit dropped a winnable division game last week against Minnesota. The Vikings found a way to successfully stop Detroit superstar Jahmyr Gibbs. The loss dropped the Lions to 1-2 in the division. Defensively, Detroit has performed well in their eight games. They’re ranked 5th in takeaway/giveaway ratio (+6), 8th in yards allowed per game, and 11th in total points allowed. The Lions have two players, Aidan Hutchinson and Al-Quadin Muhammad, ranked in the top eleven in sacks. Detroit’s offense continues to be one of the league’s best. They rank 11th in yards per game, 9th in rushing yards per game, and 2nd in points scored per game. Detroit is still the favorite to win the NFC North, and the team has Thanksgiving’s game circled on their calendar as they face off with Green Bay, looking for redemption after losing week one’s matchup to their division rival.

1. Green Bay Packers Record: 5-2-1 (Last Week’s Ranking: 2)

(Last Week’s Ranking: 2)The Packers suffered a tough loss last week against Carolina. It was a winnable game against a Carolina team that continues to improve. However, Green Bay sits atop the division and holds the tiebreaker against Detroit. The Packers’ defense continues to rank among the league’s best. They are 5th in yards allowed per game, 9th in passing yards allowed per game, 5th in rushing yards allowed per game, and 8th in points allowed per game. The offense continues to search for consistency, but ranks 8th in yards per game and 11th in points per game. Running back Josh Jacobs, ranked 2nd in rushing touchdowns, continues to be the driving force in the Packers’ offense.
