Danny Murphy makes big claim about Dominik Szoboszlai after Liverpool beat Real Madrid, and he’s spot on - opinion

Dominik Szoboszlai continues to show why he should be in the team week after week.

The Reds beat Real Madrid rather comfortably despite the scoreline only being 1-0, with Thibaut Courtois the only reason why it was not a lot more.

Many of Liverpool’s players had one of their best performances of the season, but one star who just had yet another very good game was Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian has been one of, if not the best, Reds player so far this season, with his outing against Madrid proving again just how key to the team he is.

Former Liverpool player Danny Murphy has also made a pretty bold claim about the midfielder, and it is safe to say that he is absolutely correct.

Dominik Szoboszlai is in the form of his life

At the start of the season, there were questions raised about where Szoboszlai would fit into the team after Florian Wirtz’s arrival, but now these questions seem rather stupid.

The Hungarian has developed into one of Liverpool’s most important players and always performs no matter where he is asked to play, making him a manager’s dream.

He is simply undroppable right now and Murphy reckons he is in the form of his life, and it is hard to disagree.

“I think also as well, the settled lads in midfield, when those three tend to play, Liverpool are generally a lot more settled,” he said on talkSPORT Daily.

“And you could argue Szoboszlai is probably playing the best football of his career.”

He is yet to have a bad game and against Real Madrid, he showed how he can still do it no matter the opposition, hence why he is one of the first names on the teamsheet right now.

Dominik Szoboszlai is a future captain

Szoboszlai is not just a fantastic footballer but he is also a great leader too, something he has shown when captaining his country.

And although he does not wear the armband at club level, he plays like he has one on as he leads by example and helps push the team forward.

Liverpool fans reckon Szoboszlai is the next captain of the club once Virgil van Dijk departs, and it would not be a bad choice either, especially if he plans to stick around for the foreseeable future.

The Hungarian really is playing some of the best football of his career, which is quite a scary prospect given that he is still only 25 years old.
