“Special” 18 year old is a top Chelsea target who has “hugely impressed” Blues’ scouts

We are finally getting towards the January transfer window, and chatter about potential Chelsea targets is heating up.

There are the same old names that we heard about all summer – but fresh to the table are a host of players who have started this new season brightly and put themselves on the radar of bigger clubs. Chief among them has to be Yan Diomande, who is apparently rising quickly up our shortlist.

TeamTalk quote transfer expert Graeme Bailey, who says the 18 year old is a “special” player.

“Diomande is special, Chelsea know all about him – indeed I am told they are one of the clubs who saw him in Spain before Leipzig swooped,” Bailey said.

“His progress has been startling – Chelsea love a wide player and their scouts have been hugely impressed with Diomande – he is one we need to keep an eye on.”

Still just a teenager, he would be a natural fit for BlueCo’s youth transfer policy. We can see him being bought, loaned out to Strasbourg and prepared for a potential Premier League impact in a couple of years.

It seems like the transfer team are already going to regret not making a move earlier this year – let’s hope they get a deal wrapped up soon before Diomande’s price rises even further.

In other news…

Chelsea are hoping that a player already on their books can give their team a boost as soon as tonight – Liam Delap should be starting for the Blues in Azerbaijan.

Our predicted XI for tonight has Delap in the mix, but likely to only play 45 to 60 minutes as he builds up his fitness again. He will be desperate to make the most of it.
