Academy Internationals | Leacock called up by Northern Ireland for UEFA Euro U19 qualifiers

West Ham United U18s captain **Callum Leacock** has been called up to Northern Ireland’s U19s squad for three UEFA European U19 qualifiers this November.

The 17-year-old defender has been captaining our U18s team since [**arriving from Linfield in the summer**](https://www.whufc.com/news/callum-leacock-joins-west-ham-united-u18s). After making 16 appearances for Northern Ireland’s U17s, Leacock was promoted to the U19s — the year above his actual age group — in October, earning his first U19s caps in friendly fixtures against the USA and Switzerland in preparation for November’s Euro qualifiers.

Leacock and his Northern Ireland teammates have been drawn in Group 13 and will face hosts Malta on Wednesday 12 November (10am), Azerbaijan on Saturday 15 November (1.30pm) and Czechia on Tuesday 18 November (10am). All three fixtures will be hosted at Malta’s National Stadium in Ta’ Qali.

The top two teams in each group as well as the best third-placed team will join top seeds Spain in the elite round draw on 10 December. The elite round in spring 2026 will produce the seven nations joining hosts Wales in the finals scheduled from 28 June to 11 July.
