Leeds United transfer rumours
There is just over a month left till the January transfer window, and Leeds United transfer rumours are already flying. Fans at the club are eagerly looking forward to the winter window.
They were not pleased with how the summer window ended, with many failed deals at the end after failing to secure key targets. After missing out on Igor Paixao, the club pushed to sign alternatives close to the deadline.

Leeds had interest in Bilal El Khannouss before he moved to Germany, had a deal for Facundo Buonanotte hijacked by Chelsea and had a late move for Harry Wilson fall through. Fans were furious that there was little investment in attack, with the team only signing Lukas Nmecha, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The club have had a mixed season so far, but it has been better than expected. There is a lot to be positive about at Elland Road heading into the halfway point of the season. But Leeds do need investment, and there are some big targets that have already been linked.
Eight players who could join Leeds United in January
Leeds United transfer rumours are gaining steam at this point of the campaign. Some early reports have emerged about the club having plans to bring in a few names in January. There are a few players already linked with exits in the upcoming window.
Some of the latest names are targets from the summer window, while others have been linked with a move to Elland Road for the first time.
Gus Hamer
A favourite of Daniel Farke; the German has been trying to sign the Sheffield United star since last year. Leeds need that creative spark in the middle of the park, and Hamer has shown he can deliver at Premier League level.
Piotr Zielinski
The Polish international is looking for a way out of Italy to get some regular playing time. Zielinski can operate in midfield or behind the striker, and can provide goals and assists.
Issouf Sissokho
The Malian midfielder was recently linked with a move to Elland Road. He would bring a more solid defensive presence in the middle of the park compared to other options.
Sebastian Tounekti
Noah Okafor has been the only spark out wide this season, getting someone like the Celtic star on the opposite flank could pose a problem for defences.
Nicolas Raskin
The Belgian has not had much playing time at Rangers this season, but he is a quality playmaker who can make things happen.
Harry Wilson
A player that should have ended up at Leeds in the summer. The attacker would be a great fit in the team considering how he can contribute to goals. He is also very good at set-pieces.
Haji Wright
The Coventry City man has nine goals in all competitions this season, and Leeds need a goalscorer. Wright’s size and build will make his transition to top flight football much easier.
Josh Sargent
The American has started the season off well, and is reportedly someone Daniel Farke has had his eye on. Would be an expensive effort but Leeds do need help up top.
Who should Leeds United sign in January?
Looking at these Leeds United transfer rumours, only a few are desperately needed in the team heading into January. The Whites have two key problems in the Premier League this season – scoring goals, and creating chances.
The recruitment got it right when adding Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff to the midfield. The duo have provided some much needed solidity in the middle of the park. However, the Whites need someone in those areas who can score and create.
Gus Hamer would be the perfect fit for that number eight role in midfield – he has past Premier League experience, and is a very productive midfielder. The Sheffield United man has 35 goals and 38 assists in all competitions since 2020. Hamer’s last top flight campaign saw him rack up 10 goal involvements for a poor Blades team.
Up top, the clear answer is to sign Coventry City star Hajji Wright. The striker is very good in the air, and is able to withstand duels on the ground. His record of 39 goals since 2023 is impressive.
Wright would fit in at Leeds, and could even partner Dominic Calvert-Lewin up top.
In attack; despite Brenden Aaronson being Daniel Farke’s preferred option on the right, Harry Wilson would be an upgrade on the American. The Fulham man has shown he can contribute to goals, and is great off the ball.
Wilson is the ideal player for that role which requires players who can drift in to midfield when needed. He also has a great cross on him which could be a weapon for Leeds.
