Ashley Cole has made his Premier League title predictions, describing Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side as “immense”.
The Gunners are currently on top of the Premier League table, with a six-point lead over Manchester City in second place. They come off a win against Burnley in the league, before they managed to dismantle Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League.

Mikel Arteta will be delighted with the way things are going this season, and he will have his attention on the weekend, when the Gunners face a surprise package in the form of Sunderland. If they win that game, they could extend their lead to nine points at the top of the table, with Manchester City and Liverpool facing off against each other this weekend.
Opta’s supercomputer has simulated that Arsenal have over a 70% chance of winning their first Premier League title since 2003/04, when they were able to go unbeaten across the entirety of the season, a feat that has never been done since.
Former Arsenal invincible Cole predicts the title race
One of the players in that invincible team was Ashley Cole, who was arguably one of the Gunners’ greatest every defenders, and one of the best full-backs ever to play in the Premier League. He was recently inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame, and whilst at the ceremony, spoke to Sky Sports about his former team.
He said: “They’ve [Arsenal] been immense, I think what Mikel Arteta has done in the five or six years he’s been there has been immense. I think they’ve continued to grow and build, and get better and better season on season.
“Now it’s looking like they’re for sure favourites, they’re continuing to win games, and dominate games, and of course you’ll talk about the set plays. But, defensively they look very solid, and we all know a good, strong bedrock of a defence wins titles.”
Cole was also quick to suggest that Manchester City and Liverpool could still challenge for the title. He also made the bold prediction that even Manchester United could give themselves a shot at the Premier League title too.
“Manchester City are finding their feet again,” Cole added, “Manchester United, could they put on a good run, and I would never ever write Liverpool off, we’ll see, but so far Arsenal are looking very very strong.”
