Player urged to ignore ‘serious interest’ from Arsenal and Manchester City – Better off where he is

Feyenoord star Givairo Read should ignore the ‘serious interest’ from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

That’s according to analysts Kees Kwakman and Marciano Vink. They think that the 19-year-old is better of where he is, via FR 12.

The right-back has reportedly earned attention from big clubs around Europe thanks to his performances with the Dutch side. FR12 say Bayern, Arsenal and Manchester City have shown ‘serious interest’ in him.

That’s come from reports in both the UK and Dutch media. They’ve reported that Read is viewed as a rising talent by such clubs, who could be ready to move and snap him up before too long.

As reported earlier this week, both clubs have been sending scouts.

Manchester City, in particular, are still looking for a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. Arsenal, on the other hand, are sorted at right-back but Read would fit into their strategy of bringing in youth talent for the long-term.

Read, for his part, has played down the reports and growing interest. That’s despite De Telegraaf reporting that scouts from Arsenal and Manchester City have been following him closely.

Kwakman and Vink think he should be ignoring the interest entirely. They argue that he’s better off where he is right now.

“I think it’s best for Read if he stays at Feyenoord,” said Kwakman.

“He’s currently playing for the Dutch U21 team and has already played quite a few games at Feyenoord at a young age. Just say ‘no’ to Bayern; you have to be strong.”

“You shouldn’t sign for Bayern, get a ridiculously high salary, and then be loaned out to Austria Vienna, just saying,” added Vink.

“Read is so talented and looks so good. A step up is definitely coming. When I look at his profile and the way he’s performed at nineteen in European matches and with the Dutch U21s, he meets all the requirements to become an international full-back.”
