Liverpool continued their impressive run of form in the Champions League with a 1-0 win over La Liga side Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
Following a goalless first-half, Alexis Mac Allister’s header broke the deadlock at Anfield and Arne Slot’s side held on to secure all three points.
The Reds now sit sixth in the Champions League group phase table, although they have won just one of their past six games domestically.
With Liverpool’s recent poor form in mind, it has emerged that the Premier League champions have been scouting a Bundesliga defender ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.
According to TBR Football, both Liverpool and Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur have been scouring Wolfsburg defender Konstantinos Koulierakis.

The centre-back joined Wolfsburg from Greek side PAOK in the summer of 2024, and he has since made 44 appearances for the German club across all competitions.
It is claimed that both Spurs and Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the centre-back, with the Lilywhites adding the Greece international to their list of targets as they look to bolster Thomas Frank’s defensive options during the upcoming mid-season transfer window.
The Greek player fits the profile of player that Tottenham are hoping to sign as they search for a left-sided defender to act as cover for Micky van de Ven.
Koulierakis is contracted to Wolfsburg until the end of the 2028/29 season, but the report suggests that several clubs across Europe have become aware of the defender’s impressive displays and his current employers may therefore face a battle to keep hold of the player beyond next year.
The 21-year-old has featured 11 times for Wolfsburg so far this season, starting all nine of their Bundesliga matches.
