TAMPA — The bye week didn’t provide much relief for the Bucs’ injury situation.
Running back Bucky Irving (foot/shoulder), receiver Chris Godwin (fibula) and outside linebacker Haason Reddick (ankle/knee) did not practice Wednesday and still are in the rehab phase of their recovery.
In the case of Irving and Godwin, they have not played or been seen during the practice period open to media in at least a month.
Assuming they would need some conditioning before a return, it seems unlikely it would be Sunday against the Patriots.
Reddick missed the Bucs’ 23-3 win at New Orleans before the bye week, but his replacement, Anthony Nelson, earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors with two sacks, a forced fumble and interception returned for the touchdown.
Guard Luke Haggard, who was held out of the Saints game with a shoulder injury, returned to practice. The Bucs have used several players at right guard, including Mike Jordan, Elijah Klein, Cody Mauch (who is on injured reserve with a season-ending knee injury) and Dan Feeney, who started against the Saints.
Linebacker Lavonte David, who has not missed a game but has been nursing knee/rib injuries, also practiced.
