Everton’s loan coup of Manchester City star Jack Grealish over the summer was much-needed for both parties, with the Toffees in dire shortage of attacking talent and the England winger requiring first-team football.
It’s been a decent start to life at Everton for Jack Grealish. Four assists in his first three games had him top of the assist charts in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, a late winner against Crystal Palace saw him become a fan favourite at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

And, with that in mind, Everton should look to rescue another beleaguered Premier League star in former hero Richarlison, amid their striking woes and his troubled time in front of goal at Tottenham.

Richarlison hasn’t been getting the rub of the green this season for Tottenham
Richarlison was firmly a fan favourite at Everton in some of their worst years in the Premier League.
The Brazilian joined from Watford in 2018, and immediately became a hero at Goodison Park with 13 goals in each of his first two Premier League campaigns on Merseyside.
He was also instrumental in keeping them in the division in the 2021-22 campaign with 10 goals in 30 Premier League games, when the Toffees survived a penultimate day scare to remain a top-flight side.
Richarlison made his £60million Tottenham move in 2022, though he’s yet to have the same joy. Just three goals in his first season at Spurs were followed up by 11 goals in the 2023-24 campaign, but he’s struggled for goals since then.
That was evident in Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Copenhagen, with his header hitting the bar late on before he crashed another shot at the woodwork from the penalty spot.
He cut a frustrated figure in North London, and with game time not guaranteed under Thomas Frank with just five starts from 10 in the Premier League – including none since late September – a move to Everton could be in the offing.
Everton’s striker woes mean they should look to sign Richarlison as a priority
Everton themselves have been struggling for goals under David Moyes.
First-choice striker Beto only has one goal in the Premier League so far this season, coming against bottom side Wolves, while £33m summer signing Thierno Barry has yet to even register a shot on target in the top-flight, let alone a goal. That was summarised with his shocking miss vs Sunderland on Monday night.
David Moyes will want goals coming into his side instead of having to rely on dynamite forward Iliman Ndiaye to provide from out wide.
Player Premier League goals
Romelu Lukaku 68
Duncan Ferguson 60
Dominic Calvert-Lewin 57
Tim Cahill 56
Kevin Campbell 45
Leon Osman 44
Richarlison 43
Everton’s leading Premier League goalscorers in history
Richarlison has shown he can score at Everton with 53 goals in just 152 appearances for the club, and fans will undeniably welcome him back with open arms.
An attack of Grealish, Ndiaye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Richarlison is certainly one capable of finishing in the top half.
Everton held an interest in Richarlison earlier this summer, and so it’s a deal that Dan Friedkin should pursue at any cost, to rescue both the Toffees and Richarlison’s Premier League clinical edge.
