Browns' David Njoku shares 'happy' NSFW reaction to not getting traded

The Cleveland Browns, at 2-6, could've been major trade deadline sellers, and the NFL world wouldn't have batted an eye. They had a bunch of players drawing interest, and many teams in need of those positions.

But, as the deadline came and went, Andrew Berry and the Browns made just one trade: Joe Tryon-Shoyinka to the Chicago Bears for a late-round pick swap.

This lackluster trade deadline was odd, but for Browns tight end David Njoku, it was cause for celebration. He was in trade rumors, but didn't get traded. Daryl Ruiter of 923 The Fan shared Njoku's NSFW reaction to the Browns tight end staying put.

Browns' David Njoku happy he wasn't traded at NFL deadline

"David Njoku 'happy as hell' he didn't get traded and channeled his inner Jordan Belfort when asked about his future here, 'I'm not (expletive) leaving!' #Browns," Ruiter reports.

Cleveland didn't wind up trading the veteran tight end, despite this being the last year of his current deal. Njoku might not have had a strong market, but a team like the Green Bay Packers, who just lost Tucker Kraft for the season, could've used Njoku.

But the Browns kept the 29-year-old tight end, and Njoku was very happy about it. He wants to stay in Cleveland beyond 2025 as well, and his staying through the trade deadline is a sign that the Browns might be open to such a return.

So far this season, Njoku has 27 receptions for 260 yards and two touchdowns. Rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. has 38 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns.

That duo could be back together in 2026, which would make for one of the best tight end rooms in the NFL. With young quarterbacks at the helm, in Dillon Gabriel and potentially Shedeur Sanders, having strong receiving tight ends in Njouk and Fannin is a huge plus.

Trading Njoku to give Fannin full starting responsibilities was an option, but the Browns elected to keep Njoku for the rest of the 2025 season, much to the delight of the nine-year Browns veteran.
