Former Player Doesn’t Mince Words About Packers

Fans never know what version of the Green Bay Packers they’re going to get.

The team can defeat a Super Bowl contender one week, and then lose at home to a big underdog the next.

That’s why former NFL player T.J. Ward didn’t mince words about them.

“I didn’t have them in my top five NFC teams. People were trying to shred me. I don’t believe it. Their wins have no merit. They’re against a bad team, and then they backdoor with a bad loss. They are who I thought they were, an average NFC team that looks good on occasions. I think they just don’t have the confidence to win every week. They have to have that killer instinct to finish games,” Ward said.

The Packers were thought to be a Super Bowl contender, yet they haven’t been able to find any sort of consistency.

They had no business losing to the Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers, and while anybody can beat anybody in the NFL, it’s not a good look.

The Packers might dominate the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10, and it will still be hard to turn around the narrative surrounding them.

Head coach Matt LaFleur has earned a reputation for being too conservative and holding his team back, and quarterback Jordan Love is known for turning the ball over when it matters most.

That might not be a fair assessment, but after watching Green Bay suffer from the same woes over and over, it’s not like the Packers have done much to convince their doubters of the opposite.

There’s plenty of football to be played this season, but it’s time they clean things up before it’s too late.
