Liverpool’s Premier League rivals have been informed of this star considering a January transfer
The Brazilian’s playing time has been seriously limited this season, with just 348 minutes of action under his belt so far. He is under contract with the Spanish powerhouses until 2028 but reports are suggesting he could be on the move next year.
The 24-year-old, who contributed 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions last season, was reportedly convinced to stay at Real Madrid but he is now looking for a way out once again.
Liverpool target Rodrygo linked with 2026 Real Madrid exit
According to Fichajes, Rodrygo has ‘decided’ the upcoming January transfer window could be the right opportunity for him to pursue a new club.
In a similar report, TBR Football says the Brazilian is once again ‘considering his future’, having been persuaded by the club to stay beyond the summer. The likes of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe helped convince him not to transfer away.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly ‘been informed’ of Rodrygo’s mindset surrounding his position at Real Madrid. Both clubs are also admirers of the Brazilian international, who tallied 25 goalscoring contributions for Los Blancos last season.
Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is reportedly happy to keep Rodrygo at the club but he has ‘little intention’ of changing his role within the team. With playing time already limited and Nico Paz also linked with a move to the Spanish capital, Rodrygo has ‘accepted’ his future lies elsewhere.
Liverpool Premier League rivals informed about Rodrygo
Graeme Bailey has reported that a move to the Premier League could well be a possibility for Rodrygo and it may become a ‘real option’ in the new year.
Like Liverpool, both Arsenal and Tottenham also showed interest in signing the winger over the summer and they have now been ‘alerted’ to him potentially becoming available to sign in 2026.
“Rodrygo’s situation has not improved this season. As we reported in the summer, Xabi Alonso always planned on making Arda Guler one of his key figures, and that has played out as expected,” Bailey said.
“With teen starlet Franco Mastantuono also getting regular game time, there is little sign of how Rodrygo can find a route back into the lineup.
“I am told that Rodrygo is again considering his options, and one possibility is a switch to the Premier League, which could become a real option in January. He is certainly one to watch as we approach the New Year.”
Last month Rodrygo said that if he is still wanted at Madrid, he will remain at the club. However, with regular minutes evading him, there comes a time where he must consider his future.
“I’ve always said: ‘As long as Real Madrid wants me, I’ll be here.’ If one day Real Madrid says to me: ‘Rodry, find a team,’ I’ll say ‘OK.’ But that hasn’t happened. The club has always told me they count on me,” he said.
