Chelsea have gone in 2-1 down at half time against Qarabag.
It all started so brightly for the Blues. They took the lead when Andrey Santos played in Estevao Willian, and the Brazilian wonderkid cut inside from the right and squeezed the ball in at the near post, even as he fell to the ground.
That makes him Chelsea’s top scorer in all competitions this season, with four goals. Just amazing for a player who is only starting now and again. He could have had more – but his teammates kept failing to pick him out on the right wing.

At that point, it looked like all the Blues who had travelled all that way to Azerbaijan were going to go home happy. Enzo Maresca had picked a surprisingly strong team, and they had the lead. What could go wrong?
Well, Chelsea’s defending for one thing. Jorrel Hato made a couple of big mistakes and the Blues are now behind. There’s a huge task for Maresca’s men in this second half – they desperately want 3 points here to keep their Champions League campaign on track.
If they don’t get them, after picking a strong team and taking all the big guns to Baku, there will be hell to pay. Expect to see changes in the second period as Maresca looks to turn this game back around.
In other news…
Joe Cole has named the player he thinks would be his first name on the Chelsea team sheet – and surprisingly it isn’t Cole Palmer.
Chelsea are hoping that a player already on their books can give their team a boost as soon as tonight – Liam Delap should be starting for the Blues in Azerbaijan.
