Falcons part ways with former fifth-round pick

In a bit of surprising news, the Atlanta Falcons have parted ways with former fifth-round pick Ta’Quon Graham.

Since being drafted by the Falcons in 2021, Ta’Quon Graham appeared in 51 games, recording 88 tackles, five tackles for loss, and one sack. He was never more than a rotational defensive lineman, but for a fifth-round pick, he proved to be a reliable contributor over five seasons.

The timing of the move is a bit surprising. Graham missed the first seven games of the season while nursing a calf injury but returned to play a combined 57 snaps over the last two weeks. That’s a fairly significant workload for a player on the verge of being released.

In his absence, expect LaCale London and Sam Roberts to see expanded roles along the defensive line moving forward. Both have performed admirably this season and will now have an opportunity to cement themselves as key depth pieces in Jeff Ulbrich’s defense.
