Manchester United are reportedly looking to sell Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford permanently in the winter transfer window.
According to an update by Graeme Bailey, Manchester United are in talks with Napoli and Barcelona over winter moves for Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford, respectively. It will be interesting to see if all parties can come to an agreement.
Hojlund has been quite impressive for Napoli since joining Napoli on loan, and it is no surprise that they are hoping to sign him permanently. He could prove to be an excellent long-term investment for them. The Dane played his best football in Italy with Atalanta before the move to Manchester United, and he has managed to regain his form and confidence at Napoli once again.
Hojlund does not have a future at Manchester United, and the Danish striker will look to end his Old Trafford nightmare permanently. It would be ideal for him to join the Serie A champions. However, Manchester United are unlikely to let the players leave on a bargain. Napoli will have to pay the set price if they want to get the deal done.
Similarly with Barcelona, Rashford has done quite well since joining the Spanish club. The English internatonal does not want to return to Manchester United, and the Red Devils do not view him as a key part of their plans either. Selling him is not an issue for Manchester United, but Barcelona will have to accept their demands. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.
Manchester United must look to cut their losses
Manchester United will look to get the wages of the two players off their books. They should look to accept a reasonable fee for them and let them move on. The Red Devils are unlikely to be able to fetch a premium for them. Clubs are fully aware that the two players do not have a future at Old Trafford, and they will look to sign him for a knockdown price. It remains to be seen out the situation develops.
