Iliman Ndiaye was forced off with an injury during Everton’s 1-1 draw against Sunderland in the Premier League.

Everton will be hopeful that Iliman Ndiaye can feature in Saturday’s clash against Fulham.

The visitors dominated the opening 30 minutes of the Stadium of Light encounter, with Iliman Ndiaye scoring a sublime goal to open the scoring. However, Everton could not maintain the pressure and Sunderland got back into the encounter, with Granit Xhaka equalising less than a minute into the second period.

Everton saw Ndiaye forced to be substituted in the 62nd minute. Speaking after the game, Moyes hoped that the winger, who has bagged four times in all competitions this season, did not sustain a serious injury. The Blues boss said: "I don't think it's anything serious. He wasn't sure if he was cramping up or something tightening up so we felt it wasn't worth taking the risk at the time."

Injury expert gives verdict

Everton, who are 14th in the Premier League, will see the meeting against 15th-placed Fulham as a game they can deliver all three points. Having Ndiaye available will boost the Toffees’ chance significantly. And according to Physio Scout, a popular social media account that provides football injury analysis, Ndiaye should likely be able to feature.

Writing forDaily Sports, a review of Ndiaye’s injury said: “Cramp, not any structural damage. Subbed around the hour after a high-output shift.

“Ndiaye reported discomfort and was taken off in the second half shortly aftera standout first-half contribution. Post-match indications from David Moyes, were stated as a cramp rather than a muscle strain. What this usually is cramp reflects fatigue/overload (and sometimes hydration/electrolyte factors), not fibre damage.

“Typical timelines: Day-to-day, usually clears quickly with recovery protocols. Outlook: favourable. Expect availability once normal strength and freshness are confirmed in training.”

On Ndiaye’s goal against Sunderland, Moyes told Everton’s club website:“It was a great individual goal, the way he wriggled out. He was in front of me just at the dugout and fought off a couple of challenges, got away, wriggled in, beat people and passed into the far corner. It was a really, really good goal.

“It was a wonderful goal he scored – and typical Ili. He’s got dancing feet. It was a stunning goal – old-fashioned dribbling and the finish was exquisite, nicely placed and weighted. We know he’s got that.”

Everton team news vs Fulham

As things stand, Everton will be without two players against Fulham. Jarrad Branthwaite has yet to make an appearance this season because of a hamstring injury he picked up in pre-season. The key centre-back suffered a complication in his recovery and underwent surgery last month.

Meanwhile, Nathan Patterson is on the sidelines for a foot problem, which allowed him to have a minor operation to clear a hernia.
