The Arizona Cardinals have made a big decision at quarterback.
They will keep veteran backup Jacoby Brissett as their starter, at least for now.
That might be the end of the line for Kyler Murray, whose injury created the opening for Brissett.
However, ESPN insider Adam Schefter recently revealed that there is a timetable for Murray’s potential return.
“Kyler Murray and the Cardinals have consulted with multiple doctors on his foot injury and have been told the timetables for recovery have been anywhere from 4-8 weeks, with an increased chance of setback until it’s properly healed. Murray now has more time to heal,” Schefter wrote on X.

Murray has dealt with multiple injuries throughout his career, which is one of the reasons he’s failed to live up to his massive contract extension.
More than that, now that the Cardinals may be moving on from him, they will have a tough time finding a suitable trade partner or accepting the salary cap charge that would come with releasing him.
There have been multiple negative reports about Murray’s work ethic and leadership in the past.
He’s also been singled out for spending a lot of time playing video games and reportedly not digging deep into game film.
Given his physical limitations, seemingly lost mobility, and financial situation, things aren’t looking promising for his future in Arizona.
Brissett isn’t a long-term solution at the position, as he’s never been considered much more than a high-end backup or low-end starter.
But it sounds like the Cardinals may finish the season with him before looking to find a new franchise QB.
