Chelsea have just come off the pitch after a brutally disappointing Champions League draw with Qarabag.
The Blues took the lead, then conceded two and put themselves in a serious hole. They managed to make it back to 2-2 after the break after a slew of subs, but couldn’t win the game in the end.
Chelsea’s top 3 players by the stats from disappointing draw
Santos slips in Estevao for the assist.
Santos slips in Estevao for the assist.
Stats site FotMob names Estevao Willian, Andrey Santos and Tosin Adarabioyo as the three Blues with the highest scores after the game.
Estevao is an obvious one – he scored the first goal and was our most dangerous player in the game without doubt. He got a rare 90 minutes in the team and made it count.
Santos was good too. He assisted Estevao’s goal and had some good numbers in this game despite playing just half of it. We’re still happy with his progress and development.
But Tosin? From what we saw he was part of the absurdly nervy and shaky defence that cost us this game. We guess the stats favour things like completed passes – Tosin had more of those than anyone else in the game. He completed 70 of 77, and even crated a chance.
4 of his 7 long balls were successful, he made 3 tackles, 2 blocks and 3 clearances, as well as winning 3 of his 4 aerial duel.
Ask any Chelsea fan and they’ll tell you Tosin was among our 3 worst players on the night rather than our best – another reminder not to just look at the numbers.
In other news…
Chelsea equalised when sub Alejandro Garnacho burst through and scored, but they couldn’t get the crucial third goal to earn them three points.
The Blues had taken the lead in this game through Estevao Willian – although their subsequent bad defending meant that didn’t last long.
