Manchester City continue their Champions League campaign as they welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night. The Blues have two wins and a draw from their three matches so far and victory over Dortmund will send them potentially second in the table.
Dortmund will want to avoid defeat and a victory for the German side will see them move into second place ahead of the Blues.
As usual, our team are here to give us their Bonfire Night predictions in a clash where fireworks will be expected. Here’s what we think this week:
Tricky game vs a tough Dortmund side. It being Haaland’s other team makes this a near must win and I think City get it done. 3-1 City.
**City 3-1 Dortmund**
Erling Haaland is in the form of his life, and the narrative of the game will be about him facing his old team. Such storyliness, particularly when involving the Norwegian striker, often end in goals. Expect a Dortmund goal, but City to win.
**Manchester City 3-1 Borussia Dortmund**
Dortmund have won 4 straight matches across all competitions, and they sit one place ahead of City in the table on goal difference. But it’s a UCL night at the Etihad. A brace for Haaland against his old club to keep the string going, and three points for City.
Tough, tough match but I’m backing City to prevail.
