The Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receivers room was dealt yet another blow in Week 9, as wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. suffered an ankle injury that forced his early exit.
While Thomas was able to briefly return to the game after the injury, he was not out there for the Jags' final drive in the fourth quarter, nor did he play during overtime.
This is just the latest injury to Jacksonville's pass-catchers group, as rookie Travis Hunter is dealing with a knee injury that has him on injured reserve, and tight end Brenton Strange is also on IR.
Due to their injuries at wide receiver, the Jaguars pulled off a trade with the Las Vegas Raiders that netted veteran Jakobi Meyers.
So, will the Jaguars have Thomas available in Week 10? Here's what we know.
Will Brian Thomas Jr. play in Week 10?
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Thomas suffered a low-grade high-ankle sprain, but he still has a chance to play this week.
That said, high-ankle sprains of any variety can be a multi-week injury, so Thomas is probably a 50/50 bet to play, at best, right now. We'll know more on Wednesday afternoon once Jacksonville's injury report is released.
If the second-year wideout doesn't suit up, his absence could immediately push Meyers into a sizeable role in Jacksonville's offense.
However, expectations need to be very tempered. Meyers will still be in the midst of learning the playbook and he will be in the very early stages of developing chemistry with quarterback Trevor Lawrence, so he'll be a total wild card.
As a result, Parker Washington could be Lawrence's go-to target, and Dyami Brown should also be involved.
This is a very murky situation that is best avoided in fantasy football.
